Baseball Recap: Ridgewood's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Ridgewood dropped their record down to 4-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 5-0 to the Strasburg-Franklin Tigers. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Generals were not able to get on the board.

As for Strasburg-Franklin, the win got them back to even at 5-5. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly five runs.

For Strasburg-Franklin's part, the result came thanks to Brody Baughmam's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. Baughmam also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Tigers are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Strasburg-Franklin's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Avery Keffer, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgewood will head out to take on Hiland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Strasburg-Franklin, they will venture away from home to square off against Coshocton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers are facing the Redskins at the right time seeing as the Redskins are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
