Baseball Game Preview: Diamond Bar Brahmas vs. Ayala Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Diamond Bar will face off against Ayala. The Brahmas will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Diamond Bar's offense. They came up short against Ayala on Thursday, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Brahmas in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

For Ayala's part, Diamond Bar's batters probably weren't too happy with Easton Sarmiento, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up two walks). Sarmiento has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Caleb Trugman was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Elijah Duarte was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Ayala kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive matches.

Ayala has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Diamond Bar, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
