Baseball Game Preview: Oak Hill Academy Raiders vs. Winston Academy Patriots

The Oak Hill Academy Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Winston Academy Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Hill Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Oak Hill Academy came up short against Winston Academy on Monday, falling 7-1.

For Winston Academy's part, Holder Tidwell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Tidwell a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jonah Hood was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ben Caperton was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Winston Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Oak Hill Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
