Basketball Game Preview: Pansophia Academy Pansophia Pumas vs. Mendon Hornets

The Pansophia Academy Pansophia Pumas will venture away from home to square off against the Mendon Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pansophia Academy will be strutting in after a win while Mendon will be coming in after a defeat.

Pansophia Academy was handed a 50-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 victory over West Michigan Lutheran. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pansophia Pumas have posted since February 15, 2024.

Meanwhile, Mendon played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 57-37 to Climax-Scotts. The contest marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Pansophia Academy will have to contain Ryder Gorham as he made an impact in Mendon's last game. He posted 20 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Mendon is 6-2 when Gorham posts five or more steals, but 5-8 otherwise.

Pansophia Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-13. As for Mendon, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

Pansophia Academy took a serious blow against Mendon in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 95-11. Can Pansophia Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
