Stevenson took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against North Monterey County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates won by a run and slipped past the Condors 5-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Stevenson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nadia Patel, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Stevenson's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for North Monterey County, their record now sits at 2-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Stevenson will challenge rival Monte Vista Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, North Monterey County is set to take on their familiar foe Soledad at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
