Softball Recap: Randolph Comes Up Short

Randolph fell victim to Pardeeville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Rockets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 7-0.

Tessa Reed spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Randolph saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annika Reed, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Kiley Bryant also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Randolph has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. Pardeeville's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Randolph will square off against Big Foot at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pardeeville, they will welcome Berlin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
