Football Recap: Lansing Catholic Cougars vs. Chesaning Indians
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lansing Catholic had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 36-29 win over the Chesaning Indians. Lansing Catholic's victory was all the more impressive since the Indians were averaging only 14.5 points allowed on the season.
Despite the loss, Chesaning still got an impressive performance from Brayden Florian, who rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 56 receiving yards and a touchdown. Florian's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 131 rushing yards.
Lansing Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Chesaning, they moved to 9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.
