Football Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Huntsville + How To Watch

Huntsville extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Traeshawn Brown. The Hornets took down the Nederland Bulldogs 35-21 on Friday with plenty of help from Brown, who rushed for 210 yards and three scores while picking up 13.1 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards.

Huntsville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kadon Moebes and Jarmiah Peterson. Peterson also made eight total tackles, which is notable because Huntsville is 3-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 2-3 otherwise. Brenton Carroll was another major factor on D, making 20 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Huntsville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Nederland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Huntsville will venture away from home to challenge Splendora at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Nederland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
