Football Recap: St. John Bosco Starts Season with Victory Against Manatee

St. John Bosco had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Manatee Hurricanes, posting a 31-0 win. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in California, while the Hurricanes are ranked 63rd in Florida) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. John Bosco found their leader in sophomore Koa Malau'ulu, who threw for 121 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. John Bosco's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Josiah Poyer was the leader with two.

St. John Bosco didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 66-7 victory against Eastwood on the 29th. As for Manatee, they have also already played their next contest, a 42-14 win against Southeast on the 29th.
