Basketball Recap: Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Northland last Tuesday, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley came back down to earth. The Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves took a blow against the Nevis Tigers on Friday, falling 77-49. The loss was the Wolves' first of the season.

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1. As for Nevis, the win (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley will take on Laporte in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nevis and Pine River-Backus will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nevis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Pine River-Backus likes a good challenge.
