Football Recap: Edison's Undefeated Season over After 12 Games

After soaring to 38 points the game before, Edison was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They came up short against the Homestead Broncos, falling 26-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Red Raiders have suffered since March 18, 2024.

Rakyia Louis threw for 172 yards and one TD while completing 73.1% of her passes. Briana Bogan was her top target, picking up 57 receiving yards.

Leading Homestead to victory were Jerniyah Fowles and Zakieria Cobb. Fowles threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns while completing 83.3% of her passes, while Cobb picked up 109 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Cobb also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making two total tackles.

Having lost for the first time this season, Edison fell to 11-1. As for Homestead, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

Edison didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-0 victory against American on the 7th. As for Homestead, they have also already played their next game, a 12-6 loss against Palmetto on the 4th.
