Baseball Recap: Anthony Wildcats vs. Alpine Bucks
Anthony was the 5-2 winner over Alpine when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell just short of the Bucks by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday.
Aiden Madrid made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Saucedo, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Anthony dropped their record down to 6-12-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Alpine, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Anthony is set to challenge their familiar foe Tornillo at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Alpine will square off against rival Presidio at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
