Softball Preview: Halls Tigers vs. Westview Chargers

The Halls Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Westview Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Halls came up short against West Carroll and fell 7-4.

Meanwhile, Westview can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over Milan. With that victory, Westview brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

McCall Simms made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Simms has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in nine consecutive pitching appearances. Simms was even better at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and three runs.

In other batting news, Alexis Evans was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Byars, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Halls' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Westview, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.
