Baseball Recap: Christian Fellowship Takes a Loss

Christian Fellowship extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-6 in the process. They lost 22-0 to the Mayfield Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 17-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

As for Mayfield, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-15. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Mayfield's part, they got a massive performance out of Jett Hawkins, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Hawkins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyler Simpson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple.

Looking ahead, Christian Fellowship will square off against Fulton County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mayfield, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Paducah Tilghman at 5:30 p.m.
