Softball Recap: Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes vs. Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils
Arizona Lutheran Academy had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 7-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dust Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-1 last Monday.
Arizona Lutheran Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Danzeisen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
As for Santa Cruz Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Considering they have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
On Santa Cruz Valley's side, the team relied heavily on Ceeana Banda, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Banda has posted since back in March. Mikayla Leos was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Arizona Lutheran Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-1 loss against Tonopah Valley on the 25th. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 8-0 defeat against Horizon Honors on the 28th.
