Baseball Recap: Mountain Vista Sets Scoring Season-High Against Regis Jesuit

Mountain Vista lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Regis Jesuit, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Golden Eagles blew past the Raiders 12-1 on Monday. The Golden Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mountain Vista got a great performance from Chase Ruden as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those hits marked the first that Ruden allowed this season.

At the plate, Alex King was incredible, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Jackson Crawford also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Mountain Vista was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

The victory (which was Mountain Vista's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Regis Jesuit, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
