Basketball Recap: Calumet New Tech Warriors vs. Bowman Academy Eagles
After flying high against Whiting last Saturday, Calumet New Tech came back down to earth. The Calumet New Tech Warriors received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 60-41 to the Bowman Academy Eagles. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in November of 2020.
Loss or not, Calumet New Tech got some senior leadership from Eric Allen and Javon Lawerence. Allen went 5 for 9 on his way to 19 points and five assists, while Lawerence posted seven points in addition to ten boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Hudson, who put up six points and seven rebounds.
Calumet New Tech has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Bowman Academy, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.
