Softball Recap: Southern Wayne Comes Up Short

Southern Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 19-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rocky Mount Gryphons. Even if the Saints couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Southern Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Rocky Mount, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Gryphons beat Southern Wayne by a score of 16-2 later that day.
