D.J. Lagway of
Willis threw for 425 yards and accounted for eight touchdowns in a 52-21 win over Rudder.
Lagway threw for seven touchdowns and ran for another – all in the first half. The future Florida Gator connected on scoring strikes of 65, 42, 20 and 35 yards, respectively, in the first quarter. There was more to come in the second with TD passes of 10, 45 and 40 yards.
Willis and Rudder combined for 73 points in the first half and zero in the second, a fact almost equally as incredible as Lagway's stats.
As a junior, Lagway threw for 2,081 yards and 24 touchdowns against five interceptions in just eight games. He also ran for 517 and seven more scores.
247Sports has Lagway pegged as a top 50 recruit nationally and the No. 4 quarterback. He committed to Florida last December over offers from 33 other schools, including Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma and USC.
