Basketball Recap: Forestview Comes Up Short

Forestview played a tough match on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Stuart W. Cramer Storm 92-56. The Jaguars have struggled against the Storm recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Forestview saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sa'Ryah McCorkle went 6 of 11 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. McCorkle's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Kalli Stuart also deserves some recognition as she pulled down her first rebound of the season.

Oshauna Holland continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Stuart W. Cramer, shooting 4-for-6 from long range and dropping a double-double on 35 points and 18 boards. Holland is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 49 games she's played dating back to last season. Lauren Humphrey was another key player, going 10 for 15 en route to 21 points and five rebounds.

Forestview's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Stuart W. Cramer, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Forestview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-39 loss against South Point on the 31st. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 84-25 victory against North Gaston on the 31st.
