Softball Recap: Deering Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Deering unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 18-8 to the Noble Knights on Wednesday. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Hadleigh McPartlan was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Moss, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Deering is set to face off against their familiar foe Gorham at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Noble will square off against rival Kennebunk at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
