Volleyball Recap: Marian Beats Lake Orion for Their Fifth Straight Win

Marian waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Lake Orion Dragons. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Marian easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-6.

Sophia Smith paced Marian's offense, picking up five kills. Smith got some help from Allie Davison and her 19 assists. Quinn Nelson controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Marian's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Lake Orion, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1-1.

Lake Orion wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Adams on the 23rd. Hopefully Marian paid attention to the Dragons' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
