Recap: Wharton Wildcats vs. Robinson Knights        
        
		
            
 The Wharton Wildcats posted their closest  win yet this season on Friday. They had just enough and edged Robinson out  41-38. Given Wharton's advantage  in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings  (they are ranked 91st, while Robinson is ranked 219th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Wharton's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Jayla Grady, who  scored 17 points along with five  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Grady has scored all season.  Nina Green was another key contributor,  scoring nine points along with seven  rebounds and four  steals.
 Robinson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Ava Godfrey, who  scored 14 points along with two  steals. Godfrey has been hot recently, having posted two or more  steals the last four times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Jennie Gutman, who  dropped  a double-double on 13 points and 12  rebounds.
 Wharton's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 18-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Robinson, they are  on a three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 10-7.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wharton will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Hillsborough at 6:30  p.m.  on January 23rd. Hillsborough is coming into the  contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Robinson, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Brandon at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday.
