Softball Recap: Pittsfield Panthers vs. Farmington Tigers
Pittsfield won against Nute on Wednesday with 19 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Everything went the Panthers' way against the Farmington Tigers as they made off with a 19-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six contests by 15 runs or more so far this season.
Alex Penney made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Ashley Clark was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Kyleigh Page also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Pittsfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .806. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
