Football Recap: Manatee Piles Up the Points Against Pinellas Park

Manatee won the last time they faced Pinellas Park and things went their way on Friday too. The Hurricanes claimed a resounding 42-7 win over the Patriots. The game marked the Hurricanes' most dominant victory of the season.

Among those leading the charge was Logan Rogers, who threw for 151 yards and three TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Manatee's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ronin Dangler, Jaysen Lowery, and Derek Morgan, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Pinellas Park's side was Dangler, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The win got Manatee back to even at 3-3. As for Pinellas Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Manatee will square off against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 13.5 points per game this season, so the Hurricanes' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Pinellas Park, they are taking a road trip to challenge Tarpon Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots are facing the Spongers at the right time seeing as the Spongers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
