Basketball Recap: Edna Takes a Loss

Edna has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a 79-50 loss at the hands of the La Grange Leopards. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Leopards apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

La Grange was led to victory by Campbell Cooper Sg 2027 and Kylie Trlicek. Cooper Sg 2027 went 15 for 27 on her way to 31 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals, while Trlicek went 10 of 20 on her way to 25 points along with seven assists and five steals. The game was Trlicek's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cara Homer, who posted four points and eight boards.

Edna's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for La Grange, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.

Edna will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rice Consolidated at 1:15 p.m. Edna is facing Rice Consolidated at the right time seeing as Rice Consolidated is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for La Grange, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-35 victory against Seguin on the 27th.
