Soccer Game Preview: Shoemaker vs. Copperas Cove

Shoemaker and Copperas Cove are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2016, but likely not for long. The Shoemaker Wolves are taking a road trip to face off against the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shoemaker will be strutting in after a win while Copperas Cove will be coming in after a defeat.

Shoemaker's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Bryan. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Wolves were the better team in the second half.

Sebastian Martinez and Joushua Torres scored both of Shoemaker's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Meanwhile, Copperas Cove lost 4-1 to Harker Heights on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldawgs in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost five in a row.

Shoemaker has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those seven contests. As for Copperas Cove, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-1.

Shoemaker came up short against Copperas Cove when the teams last played back in March of 2022, falling 5-3. Can Shoemaker avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
