Volleyball Recap: Frontier Regional Comes Up Short

If Frontier Regional was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Putnam Vo-Tech last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Hawks lost 3-0 to the West Springfield Terriers on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Hawks in their meetings with the Terriers: they've now lost seven in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-18, 25-13.

Nathan Rivera paced Frontier Regional's offense, picking up six kills. Rivera got some help from Tavo Vincent-Warner and his 15 assists.

West Springfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Prasanta Bhandari led the charge by getting 34 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexsandr Bak, who had seven kills, four digs, and two aces.

Frontier Regional's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for West Springfield, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Frontier Regional will be playing in front of their home fans against Westfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Springfield, they will take on Putnam Vo-Tech at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Terriers are facing the Beavers at the right time seeing as the Beavers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
