Basketball Recap: Mary Persons Comes Up Short

Mary Persons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 64-45 to the Whitewater Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Wildcats are ranked 169th).

It was another big night for Seyi Daramola, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 boards for Whitewater. Daramola has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. Case Roberts was another key player, putting up eight points along with six assists and six steals.

Mary Persons' record is now 2-5. As for Whitewater, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Spalding the next time they take the court. Mary Persons will host Spalding at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Whitewater will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
