Softball Recap: Atmore Christian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Atmore Christian came into Monday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Escambia Academy Cougars 19-2 on Monday. The Rams' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.

Tamra Stoltzfus was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Kennell, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Atmore Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .862. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Atmore Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atmore Christian will square off against East Hill Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Atmore Christian's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Escambia Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Snook Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on March 10th.
