Baseball Recap: New Lexington Comes Up Short

New Lexington was the 18-12 winner over River View when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Black Bears by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

New Lexington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Hahn, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Hahn is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

New Lexington has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for River View, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. New Lexington will head out to take on Liberty Union at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for River View, they are taking a road trip to challenge Conotton Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Black Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
