Basketball Recap: Juanita Sanchez Complex Falls to Cranston West in First Game of Season

Juanita Sanchez Complex unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 75-47 loss at the hands of the Cranston West Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cavaliers of the 73-55 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2021.

Despite the loss, Juanita Sanchez Complex still got an impressive performance from Tyrelle Paye, who went 9 of 14 en route to 22 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brailin Dominguez, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Nate Conca was a one-man wrecking crew for Cranston West as he put up 24 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Germain, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Juanita Sanchez Complex is headed away from home for the first time to take on Chariho at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cranston West, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on North Providence at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
