Baseball Recap: Elmwood Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Elmwood walked away with it. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Lakota Raiders on Friday. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Zackery Gross was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Nico Allen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Ryken Zeigler was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Elmwood's record is now 20-8. As for Lakota, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-11.

As of now, neither Elmwood nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
