Basketball Recap: Alamosa Mean Moose vs. Centauri Falcons
If Alamosa was riding high fresh off their 66-43 takedown of Pueblo Centennial last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Alamosa Mean Moose fell 43-35 to the Centauri Falcons on Tuesday. The Mean Moose were not able to make up for their defeat to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.
Alamosa's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morgan Ortega, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrina Knorr, who posted eight points.
Centauri got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braelyn Tucker out in front who had 12 points. What's more, Tucker also racked up four boards, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Rylie McCarroll was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.
Alamosa's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Centauri, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Alamosa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-26 win against Ignacio on the 31st. As for Centauri, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 30-27 loss against Pagosa Springs on the 1st.
