Softball Recap: Eisenhower Cadets vs. Davis Pirates

Eisenhower had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 5-10 to make it five. They fell just short of the Davis Pirates by a score of 18-16. Surprisingly, this marked the Cadets' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Davis' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-16. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Davis' part, Lesli Badillo was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Badillo was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Davis got a massive performance out of Taylor Harris, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave Harris a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Rosas, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Eisenhower will challenge Eastmont at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cadets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Davis, they will take on Wenatchee at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
