Volleyball Recap: Stratford Takes a Loss

If Stratford was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Timberland on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the Fort Dorchester Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 25-21 in the first set.

Stratford actually scored more points across those five sets (106-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-12.

Among those leading the charge was Hannah Martinez, who had nine digs and two aces. Those two aces gave her a new career-high.

Stratford's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

The teams wasted no time getting back out on the court as they've already faced off again: they played to a 1-1 tie on Saturday.
