Basketball Recap: Travelers Rest Comes Up Short

Travelers Rest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 66-58 to the Seneca Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Devildogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Bobcats are ranked 96th).

Seneca found their leader in freshman Jack Webb, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Webb has scored all season. Jeremiah Hunter was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Travelers Rest's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Seneca, their record now sits at 12-6.

Travelers Rest will take on Blue Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Blue Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season. Seneca has already played their next match (against Pickens), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
