Recap: Grafton Clippers vs. Jamestown Eagles
If the Grafton Clippers were riding high off their 62-24 takedown of the York Falcons last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Grafton took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jamestown on Thursday. Grafton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Jamestown apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Grafton still got an impressive performance from Alonni Wells, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Wells is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Taylor Ragland was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Jamestown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maddie Leach out in front who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Vision Pretlow, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Grafton has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-4 record this season. As for Jamestown, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 19-0.
