Baseball Recap: Central Hardin Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bethlehem last Saturday, Central Hardin came back down to earth. Central Hardin fell just short of the Warren East Raiders by a score of 7-6 on Monday. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Devin Hubbard and Reece Cowley did some serious damage despite the final result: Hubbard scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Cowley went 1-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI Cowley has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Irwin, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The loss snapped Central Hardin's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-7 record. As for Warren East, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Hardin will face off against St. Charles East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Warren East, they will square off against Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwood's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Warren East's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
