Softball Game Preview: Southern Fulton Indians vs. Everett Warriors

Southern Fulton is 0-10 against Everett since May of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Indians will be playing at home against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Southern Fulton put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. They blew past Forbes Road 27-12. The victory was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won three matches in a row.

Southern Fulton got a massive performance out of Lakyin Hixson, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Hixson a new career-high. Chloe McCusker was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Southern Fulton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Everett, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Meyersdale by a score of 10-5 on Tuesday.

Everett is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Southern Fulton, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6.
