Soccer Recap: Mary Persons Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Mary Persons had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Fayette County Tigers on Friday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Mary Persons were the better team in the second half.

Mary Persons' victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-10. As for Fayette County, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mary Persons will venture away from home to take on Jasper County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fayette County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Fayette County challenge Trinity Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Fayette County surely won't give up without a fight.
