Football Recap: Gloucester Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Gloucester unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 13-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Kent Trojans on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Leading New Kent to victory were Braylon Simpson and Sherman ''Trey'' Wynn. Simpson rushed for 91 yards and one TD on only ten carries, while ''Trey'' Wynn rushed for 67 yards and one score. ''Trey'' Wynn also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making one tackle in addition to snagging an interception.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gloucester will square off against Jamestown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Kent, they will take on Poquoson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
