Softball Recap: Portland Comes Up Short

The matchup between Portland and Coginchaug Regional on Friday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Highlanders came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 18-1. The Highlanders were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Portland and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Coginchaug Regional, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Portland has already played their next game, an 8-7 defeat against Westbrook on the 14th. Coginchaug Regional has also already played their next match (against Warde), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
