Soccer Game Preview: Hyde Park vs. Spry Community Links

The Hyde Park Thunderbirds are taking a road trip to square off against Spry Community Links at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Hyde Park took on Air Force Academy on Thursday. The Thunderbirds fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 2-1. The loss continues a trend for Hyde Park in their meetings with Air Force Academy: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Spry Community Links managed to keep up with Tilden until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Spry Community Links lost 3-0 to Tilden.

Spry Community Links now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Hyde Park, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2.

Hyde Park couldn't quite get it done against Spry Community Links in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
