Recap: St. Brendan Sabres vs. Norland Vikings
If the St. Brendan Sabres were feeling good off their 56-35 takedown of the Westminster Christian Warriors on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. St. Brendan lost to Norland on the road by a decisive 51-34 margin on Tuesday. St. Brendan lost against Norland in their previous head to head back in February of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 65-33 score last time.
St. Brendan's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaden Castro, who scored 11 points. Castro scored a full 32.4% of St. Brendan's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sofia Toro, who scored 10 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Norland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jasmine Johnson, who scored 23 points along with 5 rebounds. Shania Swan was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 8 assists and 6 rebounds.
St. Brendan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Norland, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
St. Brendan will be playing at home against Palmer Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Norland, they will take on Schoolhouse Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
