Football Recap: Bennett Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Bennett extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were beaten by the Englewood Pirates 44-0. The Tigers lost against the Pirates in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 28-12 score last time.

As for Englewood, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.3 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Englewood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Mael, who rushed for 88 yards and a pair of TDs. Mael didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 1.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made three total tackles. Another pass catcher making a difference was Nathan Owens, who picked up 78 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Coming up, Bennett will take on Elizabeth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Englewood, they will square off against Kent Denver at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Sun Devils have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
