Basketball Recap: Emery Skates Past Ogden with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Emery had no problem doing just that on Friday. They really took it to the Ogden Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-24 win. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on three straight.

Emery's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Katelyn Nielson, who posted 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Kali Jensen was another key player, putting up nine points along with six assists and three steals.

Emery's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. As for Ogden, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Emery will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Morgan at 9:10 p.m. on February 24th. Morgan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Emery likes a good challenge. Ogden does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
