Basketball Recap: Cary Christian Piles Up the Points Against Statesville Christian + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cary Christian). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Statesville Christian Lions 77-34. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Knights had established a 28-point advantage.

Cary Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Birley Weng led the charge by shooting 88% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Thanks to that strong game, Weng now owns an excellent 46.2% field goal percentage. Jackson Hill was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 13 points along with seven boards and three steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Cary Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.
