Volleyball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Mt. Pleasant

Mt. Pleasant proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Overfelt Royals. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Royals, too.

Mt. Pleasant took Overfelt into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 19-25, 15-11.

Howie Do paced Mt. Pleasant's offense, picking up 12 kills. Do got some help from Steven Ho and his 32 assists. Ho was also a major player on defense: he and he shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with four each.

The win was the sixth in a row for Mt. Pleasant, bringing their record up to 6-1. As for Overfelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coincidentally, Mt. Pleasant and Overfelt will both be playing Lincoln the next time they take the court. Mt. Pleasant will head out to face Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Overfelt will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on April 3.
