Volleyball Recap: Orange Park Takes a Loss

Orange Park came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Keystone Heights Indians. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-15, 25-18.

Orange Park's offense was headlined by Emma Weber and Braylee Absher, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Miley Lloyd and her ten assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Keystone Heights got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mia Rivera out in front who had 14 kills, six digs, two blocks, and two aces. That's the most blocks Rivera has posted over her last five games. Another player making a difference was Kadence Massey, who had nine digs and six aces.

Orange Park has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Keystone Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Orange Park and Bishop Snyder will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Keystone Heights, they will challenge Union County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
